Bust-up shot of a woman wearing a bright green sleeveless one-piece dress against a background of tall trees, grass, and other green vegetation. Her black hair is pulled back in a single bun, and her body is turned slightly to the left while her face faces forward, smiling.

Artist, Assistant Arts Professor at NYU ITP/IMA

Yeseul Song is a South Korea-born, NYC-based artist who uses technology, interaction, and participation as art media. Her work uncovers creative possibilities of non-visual senses to advocate for imaginative and inclusive views of the world. Her work questions how we normally perceive, think, and interact, actively utilizing public spaces and non-traditional exhibition venues to transform existing ideas about the accessibility of art. Her best-known work, Invisible Sculptures (2018–2021), is a series of non-visual experiential sculptures made of sound, smell, warmth, air, and thought. The series was shown internationally and published as a book (Invisible and Existent) in 2021. Some of the works in the series were acquired by the Middlebury College Museum of Art.
