戸村 朝子TOMURA Asako

Asako Tomura joined Sony Corporation in 2001 after studying surface science and media arts and working at Shiseido Company’s Advertising Department. She developed new digital businesses for film and animation at Sony Pictures Entertainment (Japan) and Aniplex, Inc. Subsequently, she worked at Sony HQ’s CSR division, collaborating with international NGOs and other organizations to address social issues through the use of technology. Since 2016, she has been overseeing advanced content development by artists and engineers, technical communication, and sustainability technology promotion. Her other roles include Director of Garden TOKYO, “The Power of the Unseen” at Ars Electronica 2021, Prize Jury for the European Commission’s S+T+ARTS 2022 and 2025, jury member for the Art Gallery theme at SIGGRAPH Asia 2024. She has served as Visiting Researcher at the University of Tokyo’sInterfaculty Initiative in Information Studies since 2021 and Visiting Professor at the Tokyo University of Technology.
